Unit Markings

Unit markings have adorned British military aircraft since the earliest days, and are today worn as a proud display of a unit's history and honours. The unit colours are often painted as coloured bars or animals representing the Squadron's crest or history, or a reflection of the aircraft type or role. Examples of the varieties of current unit markings worn on British aircraft are presented here :-
